The Village of Shoreham steps quickly into action as we prepare in May for the June Annual Picnic in which all residents are invited to come to. It’s free of charge and is a great way for people to get to know the new neighbors. The food is free and is pretty darn good: hotdogs, hamburgers and lots of brats along with potato salad, macaroni salad, and pasta salad. Then there are all the side dished: onions, tomatoes, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, pickles, cheese. Served along with that are a variety of chips, soft drinks and water. Residents briing the desserts and share with others.
We generally have the SJCT Police and Firemen at the picnic so the kids (and adults too) can crawl over the fire department truck, and get to see the drug dogs from the Berrien County Sheriffs Department go to work. There are games put on by past Lakeshore Schools Coach Cindy Allen. The games are designed for all ages and get the giggles going.
This next June we are going to try doing a couple of different things like get people trained in CPR.
Join us this June. We generally get about one-third of the village to come out for the picnic. Let’s kick those numbers up! Stay tuned to the website for more information! See the pictures below of previous outings and the residents who enjoyed them!
